Lanolips founder, Kirsten Carriol couln't find the perfect lip balm. While lamenting her chapped lips on a flight, she remembered the wondrous feel of lanolin - an ingredient her father DNA scientist father had said was "the secret to skin moisturisation" -a product she had long forgotten, but had truly loved. The decision was made, Kirsten was to set out to create the finest lanolin based lip and skincare range in the world: Lanolips.

Lanolin is a 100% natural substance found on the wool of a sheep, that helps keep their coat protected and dry. Lanolin is the animal-cruelty-free by-product of wool washing after shearing.

Lanolin works in three unique ways:

1. It is semi-occlusive, that is, semi-permeable, allowing skin to self-hydrate from within.

2. It is a moisture reservoir, holding up to 400% its weight in moisture.

3. More than any other natural or synthetic ingredient, the molecular structure of lanolin closely resembles that of human skin, making it the most skin-compatible ingredient you can use.
