被譽為平民扒房的老字號金鳳大餐廳創立於1969年，創辦人為林先生, 人稱「阿叔牛扒大王」，阿叔入廚經驗已達五十多年，曾於五星級酒店工作，經過四十多年苦心經營，香港和中山已開設了數間分店。在六七十年代，西餐是高級消費享受，阿叔運用他所學的烹調技巧，融合中國的口味，創下了'人人食得起'的港式西餐，並深受食客歡迎。
